No finance degree required. Here is exactly what each signal means — one honest sentence, no jargon-flex.
Squeeze
When a heavily bet-against stock starts climbing, traders who borrowed shares to short it are forced to buy back in — and that scramble pushes the price up even faster.
Dark pool
A private venue where big investors trade large blocks of stock off the public exchange, so the size of their order doesn't tip their hand and move the price against them.
Convergence
When several independent signals land on the same stock at the same time — that overlap is what we flag, because it's stronger than any one signal alone.
Gappers
Stocks that open well above or below where they closed the day before — usually on fresh news — leaving a visible "gap" on the chart.
Days-to-cover
How many normal trading days it would take short sellers to buy back every borrowed share — the higher the number, the more fuel a squeeze can have.

🌡️ SEC Sector Heatmap
Filing Activity · Today
How to read this heatmap:Block size = total EDGAR filings today in that sector (bigger block = more filings). Click any block to drill down Sector → Industry Group → Industry → Sub-Industry (full GICS taxonomy, data-backed). Each tile shows its lead ticker + top score, and a ▲ xB / yBr (n) readout — B = bullish filings (mergers, buybacks, insider buys), Br = bearish filings (offerings, dilution, defaults, delistings), (n) = filings with no sentiment signal. Only filings with explicit sentiment tags or inherently bearish form types (S-3, 424B, NT 10-K) are scored; routine filings without clear signals are counted but not assigned polarity. Glow color tracks conviction-weighted sentiment among scored filings — emerald when bullish score weight > bearish, rose when bearish weight > bullish, white when tied or no scored filings. Each filing contributes its own gapper_score as weight, so a single high-conviction S-3 shelf outweighs several routine 8-Ks. Liquid fill level = how dominant the winning side is by weight. Green fill rises for bullish-weighted sectors; rose fill rises for bearish-weighted sectors. 100% full = all one direction by weight. 50% = tied by weight or no scored filings. ⚡ = today’s top-3 conviction sectors. 🏅 = Akerlof information-asymmetry signal. 🌐▲/▼ = sector macro tailwind / headwind.

Bullish-biased by default.
This scanner surfaces long setups (gap plays, squeeze candidates, insider buys, value/moat).
For the bearish counterpart — dilution risk (S-3, 424B), restatements (Item 4.02), bankruptcy
(Item 1.03), late filings (NT-10K), insider cluster sells —
see 📉 SHORT scanner.
Profit isn't direction-specific; transparency about which side we're flagging is.
🚀 Top Catalyst Candidates
September 18, 2026
Tickers whose SEC filings score high on catalyst strength — ranked by filing type, sentiment tags, filing recency, and time-of-day boost, then multiplied by sector macro tailwind and Nobel Physics signal. Not a pre-market price gap.
Score 9+ = strong catalyst. 6–8 = watch. Below 6 = speculative.

Derivative sweep lattice
Call / put aggression staged as a tactical acquisition surface.
Premium size, dominant side, and strike concentration stay visible in one projection layer.
Three or more insider filings from different people is treated as the strongest cluster signal.
🌊 Block Volume Signal
Volume Ratio vs 30-Day Avg
Tickers showing unusual volume spikes vs their 30-day average,
combined with a catalyst filing. 5x+ ratio = potential institutional positioning.
Note: this is volume-ratio analysis, not FINRA off-exchange print data.
Institutional pressure trace
Block-volume surges isolated as positioning shock instead of raw tape noise.
This module tracks abnormal participation intensity so the operator can see when bigger hands are leaning in.
This lane measures unusual volume versus a 30-day baseline. It is not a FINRA dark-pool print feed.
